Detailed feedback on a Midweek Break

I booked a Midweek Break in a Pet Friendly Holiday caravan at one of their coastal parks. The online booking system was pretty intuitive; I found it easy to filter for pet-friendly options and specific dates. Confirmation arrived via email almost immediately. Upon arrival, check-in was smooth, handled by a friendly team member. Our caravan was a standard model, but it was clean and well-equipped enough for our needs, including space for the dog. We utilized the on-site dining a couple of times, which was convenient, if a little pricey. The accessible beach was a highlight for walking the dog. My main gripe was the Wi-Fi; it was spotty and unreliable, which made planning day trips a bit frustrating. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay and the park felt safe and well-managed.

Consistently good breaks

This was our third time booking with Parkdean Resorts, choosing another Lodge Holiday. We've tried different locations, and they've always been reliable. This time we went for one with a hot tub. The booking experience was familiar and straightforward, no surprises there. What I appreciate is the consistency; the parks are well-maintained, and the staff are generally helpful. It's why we keep coming back for our Summer Holidays. Never had a major issue across any of our stays, which is important when you're planning a family trip.

Great value, decent price

I was looking for a good deal for an October half-term trip. Found a last-minute offer for a caravan holiday at Cayton Bay on their site. It wasn't advertised as a huge discount, but the price felt right for what we got. We saved a bit compared to other places I looked at. The caravan was clean, and the kids had enough to do with the club activities. Definitely felt like I got my money's worth for the price paid.

Fun weekend away

Just got back from a weekend break at Lizard Point. We had a lodge with a hot tub, which was really nice, especially in the evenings. The kids loved the adventure play area and the entertainment pass was worth it for the swimming. Food at the on-site restaurant was pretty standard, but convenient. Overall, it was a good time and everyone had fun.

Good value, minor booking snag

We booked a Caravan Holiday for the summer. The park itself was really nice, and the caravan was clean and comfortable for our family. Kids loved the pool and the adventure play areas, which were a big plus. Getting the entertainment passes was a bit confusing online; I wish that process was clearer during checkout. Delivery of the booking confirmation was prompt though, and the overall value for a week's break was good. Just that one small detail in the booking flow could be improved.

Decent short break

Took the family for a Weekend Break. It was pretty chill. Got a caravan, nothing fancy but it did the job. Kids liked the pool and running around. Food at the on-site place was alright, easy option. Booking online was no fuss. Just a nice, easy getaway, exactly what we needed for a couple of days.

What's the deal with WiFi? Is it free everywhere or only in specific spots? Need it for work stuff.

A Alex Taylor 1 month ago
It's usually available, but can be a bit hit or miss depending on the park and even your specific caravan. Sometimes it's free in the main complex, but you might pay for in-van access.

R Robert A. 4 weeks ago
I wouldn't rely on it for serious work. Free WiFi is usually in the main areas like the clubhouse, but it can be really slow. If you need it in your caravan, you often have to pay and even then, it's not always super reliable. Mobile hotspot might be better.

Has anyone used one of those Sun holiday codes for Parkdean? Are they actually any good or super limited?

A Adam Clark 2 weeks ago
I've used them a couple of times. They're good for a cheap break but you don't get much choice in parks or dates, usually off-peak stuff.

A Amanda T. 2 weeks ago
They're legit, but read the small print. You usually pay extra for things like entertainment passes and linen, which can add up. And they're pretty strict on the dates you can pick.

Hey guys, thinking of booking a caravan for the family this summer. How early do I need to book to get a good spot? Are they usually fully booked fast?

J Jacob 2 weeks ago
Summer holidays definitely book up quick, especially for the popular parks and bigger caravans. I'd say as soon as you know your dates, get it booked.
5
B Ben 2 weeks ago
Yeah, if you want specific parks or like, hot tubs, those go super fast. I usually try to book ours around Christmas for the following summer to get the best choice and sometimes better prices too.

Thinking of bringing my dog with us. Are all parks pet friendly or just certain ones?

M Megan Smith 4 weeks ago
Most parks have pet-friendly caravans, but not all of them. You need to specifically select a 'pet friendly' accommodation option when you book.

B Ben Martin 3 weeks ago
Definitely check which parks and specific caravans allow dogs. There's usually a small extra charge too. Some parks are better than others for dog walks.

Hey, thinking of booking a week at one of the parks for summer. I saw something about £9.50 Sun Holiday codes. Are those still a thing and can I use one for July?

B Brian 1 month ago
Yeah, they usually do those every year. But check the terms, they're often for off-peak times or specific parks. July is peak season so probably not for then.

H Hannah Johnson 1 month ago
I used one last year! It was for a specific week in May. Doubt they'd work for summer hols, those usually get booked up fast at full price.

Is it worth getting the entertainment passes? What do you actually get with them?

J Jessica S. 1 month ago
Depends what you're into. If you have kids who love the pools and evening shows, then yeah. Otherwise, probably not.
4
T Thomas Torres 1 month ago
They usually cover access to the swimming pools, kids' clubs, and evening entertainment. If you plan on using those facilities a lot, it's worth it. If you're just using the caravan as a base to explore, you might not need them.

Are towels included in the caravans? Or do we need to bring our own? Trying to pack light!

L Linda Sanchez 1 month ago
Unless you're in a really fancy lodge, pretty sure you gotta bring your own. Always have to for our caravan stays.
3
J Jason Smith 1 month ago
Nah, regular caravans don't usually come with towels. You might get them in the higher-end lodges or if you pay for an upgrade, but for standard caravans, pack your own!

My partner works for the NHS, does Parkdean do any kind of discount for that? Or Blue Light Card?

J John 3 weeks ago
Yeah, they usually do. Check their website under 'offers' or search for Blue Light Card discounts, I've seen it pop up before.
0
J James Campbell 2 weeks ago
Pretty sure they do both actually. My sister used her Blue Light Card for a stay last year. Just make sure to apply it when booking, can't usually add it later.
